Weekend Project

A couple of weeks ago I got it into my head to build a container box for some herbs we had started in the house. So off to Lowe's I went. 3 Pieces of whatever size that wood on the side there is and one piece of flat plywood for the bottom later and this is what we ended up with.

Now, if you know me, then you know I'm not going to do just some boring project and have something plain sitting out in my yard. So I decided that everyone needed to participate and dragged out my supply of paints, gave everyone a piece of wood and said paint whatever you want. This is the results.

This is Kaitlyn's side. It is a depiction of "Kaitlantis," a world that she came up with while playing a game with Isabella.

This is Stephanie' side. She feels she lacks artistic ability to just draw and paint something random so she stuck with geometric shapes. She loves shapes, shapes make her happy lol. I think it shows a great creative mind and artistic ability.

Here is Isabella's side. She was on a pet kick at the time so she decided to put a puppy and a kitty on there and lots of stripes.

This is my side. I painted what makes me happy, the beach at sunset. Considering my artistic skills are rather limited, I think it came out pretty good.

Jason didn't want to help paint but he did help actually put the box together and move it outside. It has holes drilled in the bottom of it but the tires were his idea to help it drain better. I think it was a great idea, makes it a little easier to get to and will for sure help with drainage. Besides, we had the tires out there, might as well use them for something. We planted our herbs in it, now we're waiting to see if they are going to survive. Some are doing well so far, others, well there's always next year!
